The Sunspot 64 debuted last July at Oshkosh at our booth.   The Sunspot 64 is an 8 inch diameter replacement for the standard PAR 64 bulbs that are used in crop dusters, warbirds, and airliners.    The Sunspot 64 produces the same total light output as a 600 Watt PAR 64 sized GE 4559 on just 224 Watts of actual power.    That is 17,000 total lumens at only 8 amps of current draw at 28VDC as compared to 21 Amps with a GE4559.

The beam width is the same as the GE4559, but produces a much more uniform illumination in a cool white color temperature that provides better illumination at night and is much more visible to other aircraft when viewed in daylight.

If you are an operator of cropdusters, warbirds, or transport category aircraft and are looking for a long life (up to 50,000 hours) replacement for the power hungry GE4559 bulb, or are simply interested in having massive amounts of light at a reasonable current draw, the Sunspot 64 is for you.

Here are photographs of a Sunspot 64 that was recently installed in a T-6 Texan with one in each wing.   Two of the Sunspot 64s will light up the field on approach!
